St Albans is a community built on hard work and is proud of its diversity.
If you have the kids in tow, start with a visit to one of the local playgrounds such as Biggs St Reserve (Biggs St, St Albans) or Alice’s Play Space (309A Main Road E St Albans) which has been designed so that children of all abilities and ages can play together.
For lunch, head over to Alfrieda Street, which is great for Asian cuisine, or try Main Road West/East for European and Middle Eastern fare. Alternatively, pick up a fresh sandwich or something yummy from one of the local delis.
In the afternoon, take a walk down to St Albans Library (71A Alfrieda St, St Albans) and check out what’s happening – there’s always something on from storytime sessions for kids, to conversation clubs, games and of course, books.
For a more active afternoon, get on your bike and discover the local environment at the Denton Wildflower Garden found along the Western Ring Road shared trail (at the rear of Denton Avenue, St Albans). This unique wildflower display garden showcases plants indigenous to the local area.
Finish the day with dinner at a local restaurant or hotel – you’ll be spoilt for choice.
